Lunch at Hikaru's School

Once a year at Hikaru's school, parents are invited to learn about and taste firsthand what the school kyushoku (school-provided meal) is like. Here are some photos of our visit along with a photo of one of Hikaru's latest piece of art:

Hello, my name is Miranda and I just want to say I envy you so much. You get to live in Japan and have 2 beautiful Japanese babies. ^^ Urayamashii! But, please don't be offended. This is a good kind of envy. I think your eldest is a very smart looking young boy and will do very well in life. Congrats! They're too cute!^^ By the way, my fiance is Japanese, but there's no telling when I'll be able to move there to live with him. He's an international student here in the US and will go back to Japan to finish school in summer 2006. I hope that I can make a contact like you to advise me what I should do to prepare for my life with my fiance in Japan. If You could advise, I am going to leave you my email address here and in the URL space. I'd really appreciate a reply or some kind of advice. Thank you and I really love the blog that you put up of your family. It's so beautiful. Sincerely, Miranda (a student of Japanese language and culture)
